This paragraph is quoted from the title of Endkampf by Urbanke et al. (1). The 28. SS-Freiwilligen-Panzergrenadier-Division "Wallonien" (also known as 28. SS-Freiwilligen-Grenadier-Division "Wallonien" in different document) (2) led by legendary SS-Standartenführer Leon Degrelle (aged 39) (3) participated the last major Operation "Sonnenwende" in German Pommern in February 1945. The battle in Lindenberg (Linden hill, or Linden-Berge in different documents) (4) was the most fierce, merciless and devastating one in SS Wallonien's combat history. According to Urbanke et al. the Lindenberg was located in the area 1.5 km south of Strebelow (Strzebielewo in Poland at present) (1). However, the location was missing in historical map searching (5). So where is Linderberg exactly now? Let's take a look what happened to SS Wallonien's Grenadiers in Lindenberg in February 1945.
