This
SS Oberscharfuehrer is the tank commander of this Panzer IV. He wears
the M1943 peaked field cap with earphones and microphones over his ears
and throat. He wears the special black Panzer uniform with a Totenkopf
death head collar patch on right side, an SS Oberscharfuehrer rank collar
patch on the other side, and black SS Oberscharfuehrer shoulder strap.
The Waffen SS eagle is over his left arm and the Totenkopf cuff title
is over his left forearm (not shown in this picture). Note the Iron Cross
1st class medal, Infantry Assault Badge and the General Assault Badge
over left chest, which indicate the tank commander is an infantry-related
old veteran.

This
section first MG gunner sits on the right rear hull of this Panzer IV.
He wears the M1942 helmet and special fur-lined field gray anorak with
chest pockets and overalls that had been specially developed and manufactured
by the SS. He hangs the MG bullet belt over his neck. Note the 6*30
binoculars over his chest that may indicate he is also the deputy leader
of this grenadier squad. He held the most important fire support weapon
in the section: MG 42.

This
section second MG gunner sits on the tool trunk behind the turret of this
Panzer IV. He wears the M1942 helmet with a left side decal and special
fur-lined field gray anorak with chest pockets and overalls that had been
specially developed and manufactured by the SS. A bayonet and a folding
shovel are noted over his left hip. The tool trunk shows the vehicle number
731 that indicates this Panzer IV is the command vehicle of third platoon,
seventh company, second battalion, SS 3 Panzer Regiment and the tank commander
is also the platoon leader.
