3 February 1945, Frankfurt/Oder, the Panzergrenadier-Divsion Kurmark was formed from KG Langkeit. Orders were issued to create Panzergrenadier-Division Kurmark in accordance with the K.St.N. for the "Gliederung Panzergrenadier-Divisio 44" (Type 44 Panzergrenadier-Division) with a single tank battalion. The planned tank battalion consisted with three companies of Jagd Panzer 38 (Hetzer) and one company of Panzer IV/70 (1). But the plan of building a Type 44 Panzergrenadier-Division was very difficult in the late stage of war.

This gleiderung (table of organizational structure) of Panzergrenadier-Division Kurmark (2) was dated in early February 1945. The divisional HQ had no HQ company. The division had only one Panzergrenadier-Regiment. The regiment HQ had an HQ company and two battalion. Each battalion had one supply company, three motorized rifle companies, one motorized MG company and one motorized heavy company. The Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung Kurmark (3) was formed from armor patrol squadron under the command of Leutnant Erich Wittor (4) and later further reinforced by elements of Kampfgruppe Gersdorf (5). The battalion commander was Major Otto-Christer Graf von Albedyll (5). The tank battalion was formed from Oberleutnant Wolf-Dieter Lützow's (6) Jagd Panzer Kompanie 1551, another Hetzer tank company and remaing tanks. The Brandenburg Panther Abteilung under the command of Major Hans-Siegfried Graf von Rothkirch und Trach (7) was subordinated as the second battalion . A Panzer-Regmient Kurmark was formed later and Major Frotscher took command after Major Helmut Hudel's (8) departure for his new assignment as commander of Panzer-Lehr-Regiment. The Panzerjäger-Abteilung also had only only motorized anti-tank gun company. The artillery had only one battalion under the command of Captain Ulrich Buboltz with three motorized light field howitzer batteries. The motorized pioneer battalion had one supply company and two motorized pioneer companies. There was also a motorized mixed anti-aircraft gun company, one motorized workshop troop and one motorized mixed communication company. The second artillery battalion, anti-aircraft battalion, medical company and supply trains were still under forming.
